Most olive oil is not olive oil.
Maslina is.

Studies show more than 70% of olive oil sold in the United States fails to meet the basic standard for extra virgin. Blended. Diluted. Mislabeled. We are the antidote — a single origin, two variety collection from a coast that has been producing extraordinary oil for over two thousand years. Before Rome was an empire, this coast was already pressing olives. We prove every bottle with an independent lab certificate. The number is on the label.

Ancient olive grove on the Dalmatian coast above the Adriatic Sea

Before there was Italy,
there was Dalmatia.
These coasts remember.

Olive cultivation on this coast predates the Roman Empire. By the time Emperor Diocletian — born on this very shore — retired to his palace in Split, these groves were already ancient. He chose this land above the throne of Rome. Two thousand years of unbroken cultivation later, the standard has not changed.

We source exclusively from growers who hold to the same unbroken standard: indigenous Croatian varietals only, harvested by hand at first blush, pressed within hours. Each grower is selected not for volume but for devotion. If the standard is not met, the fruit does not become Maslina.

"The land does the work. We simply refuse to undo it."

Maslina extra virgin olive oil being poured — deep golden green color

The rarest oils are not
made in a factory.
They are grown in stone.

The same mineral-dense limestone soil that Roman agronomists documented in the first century still produces fruit of extraordinary phenolic concentration. Terroir this old does not need improvement. Our Oblica and Istarska Bjelica grown on the Croatian coast are among the highest polyphenol-testing oils in the world. Oils from our varietals have tested as high as 1,460mg/kg — nearly six times the EU cardiovascular health threshold of 250mg/kg. Polyphenol concentration varies by harvest. The certified number goes on every label after each harvest is tested. We never print a claim we cannot prove. We harvest before full ripeness, when phenolic compounds peak. We press within hours.

The result is an oil that qualifies for EU cardiovascular health claims at three times the required threshold. Every Maslina lot is independently tested by HPLC analysis — the only method recognized by the International Olive Council. The certificate is published. The number is on the label. The proof is in every bottle.

EU health regulations authorize cardiovascular benefit claims only for oils exceeding 250 mg/kg polyphenols. Every Maslina expression qualifies — most by a factor of three or more.

The standard has never changed.

I

Hand Harvest

Picked by hand at first blush — before full ripeness, when polyphenol concentration reaches its annual peak. Never mechanical. Never rushed.

II

Same-Day Press

From grove to cold press within 4–6 hours. Time is the enemy of quality. We do not store olives. We do not wait.

III

HPLC Certified

Every batch independently tested and certified. Polyphenol count, acidity, purity. The certificate of analysis is published with each lot number.

IV

Sealed & Numbered

Dark glass. Nitrogen-flushed. Every bottle individually numbered and dated. The harvest year, the lot, the variety — all on the label.

Diocletian's Palace peristyle — Split, Croatia at golden hour

Even emperors came home to Dalmatia.

Sun, salt air,
and limestone.
Two thousand years of proof.

Emperor Diocletian was born on this coast, ruled Rome, and chose to retire here. He built his palace in Split, tended his gardens, and spent his final years on the same limestone shores our groves overlook. Two thousand years on one coast. The oil has not changed.

Karst limestone soil, mineral-dense and ancient, forces the tree's roots deep — concentrating everything upward into fruit of rare intensity. The Bura wind — Croatia's fierce northeastern wind — sweeps the coast clean, carrying salt air from the Adriatic and keeping the groves free of disease and humidity. Cleaner air. Drier conditions. A natural environment so ideal for olive cultivation that it has required no intervention for two thousand years. These are not conditions that can be engineered or transplanted. They exist on one coast. They have always existed on one coast.

There are perhaps a dozen oils in the world that make you stop. That make you understand, for the first time, what this fruit is capable of when nothing is taken from it. Maslina is two of them.
